Identifying and Addressing a Fire Hazard: A Lesson in Safety and Expertise

Our team discovered a significant fire hazard at a customer’s property during a routine inspection. The issue stemmed from improper wiring—a "daisy chain" connection—created when the customer's landscaper connected low-voltage wiring to the timer and directly into the electrical control panel.

This setup posed a serious safety risk, as daisy chaining low-voltage systems directly to a central panel without proper outlets can overload circuits and potentially cause a fire. Thankfully, our experienced team identified the hazard and immediately reported it to the homeowner.

We understood the urgency and recommended that the customer consult a licensed electrician to resolve the issue. The electrician installed dedicated power outlets specifically for the timer and the low-voltage lighting system, ensuring everything met the code and operated safely.

This situation highlights the importance of working with professionals, prioritizing safety, and proper installation practices. While landscapers may excel in designing outdoor aesthetics, electrical work requires the expertise of qualified technicians or electricians to prevent dangerous mistakes.

At Conserva Irrigation of Tucson, we go beyond just optimizing irrigation systems. We conduct thorough inspections to ensure every component is safe and functioning correctly. Whether it’s an irrigation issue or spotting a potential hazard, our team is committed to protecting your property and delivering peace of mind.
